Our wines tell the story of the land and grapes that have grown on Howell Mountain for more than a century. We are the grateful stewards of this magnificent terroir, which has long been known for its exceptional Bordeaux varietals. Simply put, we endeavor to make wine that is food friendly, balanced, complex and generous in flavor. Each autumn, we study the vineyards tasting fruit, hand-selecting clusters suitable for the “Big, bold Bremer” wines we produce. Our harvests are driven purely by flavor evaluation, not timetables.
We love to get lost in the details. Barrel selection is a careful process, as we import the finest oak from France and select areas of the U.S., creating an exquisite natural spice rack to accompany our fruit. We then barrel age our red wines 30 months, an uncommon practice, but one we feel adds to our style of wine making. When it comes to blending, we literally spend months refining the blend until it exceeds our expectations. The balance of the wine, the texture, or mouthfeel as it is sometimes called, and the finish must all meet the high standard set for all Bremer wines. We then try the wine as you might enjoy it, with foods – seared ahi, a decadent bleu cheese for instance– just to make sure each blend heightens the experience as expected. In the end, each sip is a new journey. During each journey new aromas and flavors will be discovered.
We take the same care with our bottling as we do with our wine making. Rather than take a chance that paper labels might peel or tarnish in a cellar, we silkscreen using our distinctive label directly onto the bottle using 24 karat gold. The bottles are then re-fired and the label becomes a part of the glass.
We hope you enjoy the wine as much as we do.
