Dustin's winemaking journey began in 2006 with a glass of William Selyem Pinot Noir. He was in his sophomore year at Santa Rosa Junior College, and although always a lover of history (he thought he might one day be a history professor, like his father), he had never truly loved learning until that moment. That glass of Pinot captured his imagination and his intellect - soon thereafter, he found himself in the Viticulture & Enology Department at UC Davis.
After graduating with honors, Dustin went to work at Mumm Napa, Budweiser, and Australia’s Barossa Valley, where he learned his building blocks: a dedication to innovation, quality before speed, and the keys for successful fermentation. After 5 years working for larger brands, his desire to work with less common varietals on a smaller scale led him to Paso Robles, where he was the Assistant Winemaker at a family-run winery specializing in vineyard-designate Zinfandels and Bordeaux reds. Dustin's drive to work with the highest quality fruit and the chance to learn from a true master have brought him to Bremer Family Winery, where, under the guidance of Bob Bolan, he works every day to continue to bring John and Laura Bremer's dream to reality: wine that displays quality without compromise.
